Some owners of the new Google Pixel 2 have been complaining of experiencing overheating issues on their smartphone after using for some hours. It also gets hot whenever they leave it in the heat for a long period of time. For users experiencing this issue on their Google Pixel 2, I will explain how to fix the issue below.
You Can Fix the Pixel 2 Overheating Problem with These Solutions:
- It’s possible that the overheating you are experiencing is being caused by a third party app that you downloaded from your Google Play Store. The most effective way of confirming this is to hold the Power and the Power Off keys until Reboot to Safe Mode appears. A safe mode logo will appear on the left corner of your device screen. You can spot the app that is causing the issue by uninstalling the apps one after the other, alternatively you can carry out a factory reset.
However, before you carry out a factory reset on your device. I will suggest that wipe the cache partition of the device (Learn how to clear the Pixel 2 cache). Switch off your Pixel 2; you can now press the Power, Volume Up and Home keys all together. As soon as you see the Google logo, release your fingers from the keys. Your smartphone will enter Recovery Mode and you can now use the Volume down key to move to highlight the wipe cache partition option and use the Power key to select it. When you’ve done this, use the Volume keys to move to reboot system now and use the Power key to select it.
