Motorola Moto Z2 Texting Issues

In this article, we will show you the steps on how to fix Motorola Moto Z2 texting issues. Motorola’s new smartphone, Moto Z2, are packed with great features and garnered good user reviews. However, since this new flagship phone hit the market, there were some reports of users having problems being unable to send their text messages on Moto Z2. Below, we will present some of the most common reasons behind this problem, and some tips and tricks on how to deal with them.

One of the reasons that you can’t receive text messages on your Motorola Moto Z2 is compatibility issues such as the sender using an iPhone. Another common problem is sending text messages to non-Apple devices such as Android phones, Windows and Blackberry, since it may cause minor incompatibility which may be a result of the iMessage messaging service.

These two problems exist on your Motorola Moto Z2 if your SIM card was used previously on an iPhone. This happens when you have transferred your SIM card to non-Apple devices and your service is still using iMessage by default. You must have been able to deactivate iMessage before transferring your SIM card. If this is the case, only other iOS device users will be able to receive your message for now. Below, we’ll explain how you could fix this problem.

Fixing Your Motorola Moto Z2 Text Messaging Issue:

  1. Insert your SIM card (the one currently inserted on your Motorola phone) back to the previously used iPhone device
  2. Connect your iPhone to data network, either LTE, 3G or WiFi
  3. Proceed to Settings, then select Message, and turn off iMessage from here
  4. Return your SIM card to your Motorola Moto Z2 and check if this solves your problem

If you don’t have the old iPhone or have access to the number, it’s still possible to fix this problem. Refer to the Deregister iMessage guide.Once you have entered the deregister iMessage screen, proceed to the ‘no longer have your iPhone’ option at the bottom of the page and select it. Enter your phone number, then select the region you are in, then enter your phone number. Tap on Send code to finish. When you have received the code on your mobile phone, enter it in the field and tap Submit.

Now, previous iPhone users will no longer have the problem of not receiving text messages on their Motorola Moto Z2.
