Many owners of the new Google Pixel 2 have reported that they are having issues receiving text messages. Most have complained of not receiving text messages from contacts that are using Apple iPhone devices. There are two methods that you can use to fix this issue on your Google Pixel 2.
Another issue involves messages from the Pixel 2 being delivered to the recipient as iMessages. This makes those messages undeliverable.
Most Google Pixel 2 users are experiencing these two issues, and this can be as a result of transferring your SIM card from an Android device to a Google Pixel 2. It’s possible that you forget to disable the iMessage feature before putting the SIM card on your Google Pixel 2. This will make other Apple devices to message you using the iMessage feature on their devices. But there is no need to be worried because you can solve the message issue on your Google Pixel 2 and I’ll explain below how you can do this on your smartphone.
Fixing Pixel 2 Can’t Receive Messages:
- Reinsert the SIM card into your iPhone that you have put in your Google Pixel 2.
- Ensure that the Google Pixel 2 is connected to a data network such as LTE or 3G.
- Locate Settings, click on Message and then switch off iMessage.
If your apple device is not with you or you are experiencing issues deactivating the iMessage feature, the next effective option is to Deregister iMessage and deactivate iMessage. As soon the deregister iMessage page appears, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “no longer have your iPhone?” Under this option, a box will be provided for you to type in your region and phone number. After doing this, tap on ‘Send code’. Enter the code in the box “enter confirmation code” and tap on submit.
This will make sure that you receive text messages on your Google Pixel 2 that are sent from iPhone users.
