Remove Background Apps On Essential PH1

Most of the Essential PH1 users reported that their battery is getting empty quick and becomes very slow at times. The main reason why this happens on your phone is leaving all the background app behind. Background apps eat the battery life and produce too many caches that slows down the Essential PH1.

Social networking sites and apps that require internet tend to also require frequent updates that use the Essential PH1 battery. We recommend you to just manually update these apps so the battery won’t drain fast for your Essential PH1.

If you just switch on the Android OS and doesn’t know how you can get rid of the background apps after using it, follow this guide below.

Disabling Background Data Globally:



  1. Switch the Essential PH1 on
  2. Tap on Settings > Data Usage
  3. Open the context menu by tapping the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen
  4. Tap on the three dots in the upper right side of the screen
  5. Disable the “Auto-sync data” by unchecking it
  6. Tap OK

How to Remove Background Apps on Essential PH1:



  1. Switch the Essential PH1 on
  2. Browse the home screen and look for the Recent apps
  3. Tap on the Active apps
  4. Select End next to the required application. Alternatively, select End al
  5. Choose End or End all to remove all background apps
  6. Tap OK

Disabling Google Background Data (Gmail, etc.):



  1. Switch the Essential PH1 on
  2. Tap on Settings > Accounts
  3. Choose Google
  4. Choose your Google account
  5. Disable the prefered services of Google to remove it from the background apps

Disabling Background Data for Facebook


**Note that Facebook requires you to disable background data from within the Facebook app.


  1. Switch the Essential PH1 on
  2. Search for Settings
  3. Tap on “Refresh Interval”
  4. Choose Never

How to Disable Background Data for Twitter:



  1. Switch the Essential PH1 on
  2. Tap on Settings > Accounts
  3. Choose Twitter on the list
  4. Disable “Sync Twitter”
